The project consisted of the development, design and construction of the new 170,000 square foot Hardin Middle School and campus. The two-story facility was designed for 1200 students in an area of the county which has experienced rapid residential growth in recent years. The new building will have a brick-veneer with an internal structure of masonry block, structural steel and concrete construction. The building will be founded on conventional shallow footings. Construction will include the installation of new utilities, and paved drives and parking areas.

GEOServices provided Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Material Testing and Special Inspections for the design and construction of this new educational facility. An in-depth subsurface exploration was conducted to evaluate general subsurface conditions, permissible bearing capacities and settlement potentials. During construction, GEOServices provided soil, aggregate and concrete field and laboratory testing, observation and testing of compacted soil and aggregate, and inspections of bearing conditions for shallow foundations in accordance with design plans and specifications, and applicable building codes.
