The project consists of the construction of the new 291,000 square feet Eastman Chemical Corporate Business Center in Kingsport Tennessee. The project included all grading and site work, utility installation, foundation construction, structural steel erection, and reinforced concrete construction, and roofing construction. This LEED building was built, maximizing the use of high performance , energy efficient products and a high efficiency glass and steel framed structure.
GEOServices provided Testing and Special Inspection services in accordance with the IBC Chapter 17 requirements for Special Inspections and per the project specific design plans and specifications. GEOServices performed testing and inspection of the site grading and backfill of utility installation, inspection of the foundation installation, including shallow foundations and drilled pier deep foundations, inspections of the reinforcing steel and concrete formwork, performed reviews of mix designs for concrete materials, and provide batch plant inspection services. GEOServices also performed testing of fresh and hardened properties of the cast in place concrete, inspected structural steel and welding related to the foundations and superstructure. We provided backfill compaction monitoring surrounding the structures and other areas of interest as the work progresses. We prepared daily inspection and compaction reports, and oversaw building Envelope and Roofing inspection.
