DENSO Manufacturing Tennessee, Inc., is the largest DENSO operation in North America. Over 3,500 people are employed at its Maryville facilities. The company manufactures multiple automobile parts, including starters, alternators, instrument clusters, and a host of the latest advanced electronic parts. Multiple projects have been undertaken in which GEOServices has had the privilege to participate. The latest of these has been a new, state-of-the-art, major warehousing project. Other DENSO projects GEOServices supported include, concrete placement at the Athen’s plant, plant chiller expansion, rail extension, and select foundation improvements.
GEOServices provided Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Material Testing and Special Inspection services for geotechnical exploration and site grading and foundation design. GEOServices performed Phase I Environmental Survey for the project. During construction, GEOServices monitored site grading, performed testing for soil compaction, aggregate and pavement placement, fresh concrete, and performed laboratory testing for material properties and strength characteristics.
