The National Forests of Mississippi consists of six National Forests located throughout the state of Mississippi. These six National Forests offer excellent recreational activities including fishing, hunting, camping and walking trails. The National Forests are managed for timber production and the National Forests of Mississippi cover almost a million acres.
GEOServices provided an Archaeological Phase I survey for an 1145 acre timber sale located in Scott county Mississippi. The Phase I Survey consisted of shovel testing the entire project area with shovel test probes excavated along a grid. One archaeological site, a 20th Century site, and one prehistoric isolate were identified during the Phase I survey.
